This month’s post was exceptionally hard for me to write. I kept drawing blanks on potential topics to share with you, and to be honest, my heart was tired. Writing a memory about my friend George was something I never expected to have to do.
Last month, I wrote and shared about what George meant to me, how he impacted my life, and how I will always remember him on my social media and my blog page. But what I really want is to share what I wrote every single day, 365 days a year. I don’t want people to forget about him and what a beautiful soul he was. Writing about him stirred up some very raw emotions inside of me—emotions that I had not thought about in some time.
It made me ask myself: What would someone write about me if I wasn’t here tomorrow? What would I be remembered for?
The girl who went to prison?
The girl who trained horses?
The girl who taught people how to ride?
While all of those things are true, that’s not how I want to be remembered. I want to be remembered for the kind words I gave someone when they needed them most. For helping someone find their light during a dark time. I want to help someone see just how much they matter in this world. I want people to lay their heads down at night and truly know what a difference they make here in this life.
I want to be someone who makes others feel loved, valued, and blessed—over and over again.
I feel as though, in today’s world, the meaning of a truly good deed sometimes gets lost. It becomes a place of discourse. It becomes more of, “Well, I did this for you, so you can do this for me.” Instead, how about we focus on doing things for others with no expectation of a “return”?
Maybe, just maybe, the “return” belongs to someone else. While we are not guaranteed tomorrow, when tomorrow does come, we can guarantee ourselves one thing: we can do something good for someone else.
You just never know whose life you may change.
I think Dolly Parton said it best when she said, “I hope I’ll be remembered as somebody that tried to do some good.”
Nailed it for me! May she rest in peace knowing that she did a whole lot of good in this world!
So, in closing, it leads me to ask you the same question I’ve been asking myself: What will you be remembered for?
Because for me, my story isn’t done. It’s just begun. When I wake up tomorrow, I’ll thank God for another day—and another chance to try and do some good for someone else even in here, even in this dungeon.

Love to you all.
And to George, I hope you know how much good you did for me. Love you to infinity and beyond.
Until next time, Crawlers!
